Hints & Myths about Argentine Tango

PREVIOUS

..............................................................................Intermediate Tango

These notes summarise a tango course given in five parts by Rodolfo Aguerrodi & Miho Omaki in Cambridge in 2004. The copurse was aimed at people with 6+ months experience.

Lesson 2 began with some explanations about upper/lower body centres:

:

continued with a number of stretching / balancing exercises

then we played with the couple's position in the giro - close enough and - in the leader's case - hips rotated to ensure foot access to follower;s inside/outside foot etc.

thne we played with a giro including a barrida (on follower's backward step) and pasada (on the resulting forward step)

entering the giro first from a side step

then to the right from a forward step on leader's right

then to the left from a forward ocho

then to right from a backward step

then to left form a backward ocho
